Go somewhere over the rainbow, and you'll find that superstar Aston Merrygold has joined the cast of The Wizard of Oz UK and Ireland tour! The JLS frontman will be heading down the yellow brick road with a star-studded cast for spells at Bristol Hippodrome (2 to 7 April), Palace Theatre Manchester (24 April to 5 May), Birmingham Hippodrome (11 to 16 June) and Wales Millenium Centre and Cardiff (23 to 28 July).
When a raging cyclone launches Dorothy Gale into the land of Oz (and straight onto the Wicked Witch of the East), she's met with far more than singing munchkins and ruby red slippers. Take an extraordinary journey with Dorothy, Toto, and friends as they travel down the yellow brick road in search of brains, heart, courage, and a way back home to Kansas.
A truly magical experience for the whole family, The Wizard of Oz features the iconic original score from the Oscar-winning MGM film, which includes songs like Over the Rainbow', Follow the Yellow Brick Road', and We're Off to See the Wizard', with additional songs from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber!
Craig Revel Horwood and The Vivienne from RuPaul's Drag Race UK, alongside Gary Wilmot, are confirmed to portray The Wicked Witch of the West and The Wizard for certain performances. Jason Manford will reprise his role as the Cowardly Lion in Manchester exclusively.
The principal cast also features Aviva Tulley as Dorothy, Benjamin Yates as The Scarecrow, Nic Greenshields as The Cowardly Lion, and Emily Bull as Glinda the Good Witch. Abigail Matthews will play Toto, while Allan Stewart and Alex Bourne will take on The Wizard for selected dates.
This trip to Oz is one well worth taking, you'll be in the best of company.
