A Killer Thriller to knock em dead...By the end I was jumping out of my skin at every bump and every owl-hoot.
The Daily Mail on a past Original Theatre production
The Original Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Ali Milles' star-studded thriller The Croft, running at the Richmond Theatre this spring. Starring stage and screen regulars Gwen Taylor (Coronation Street, Barbara), Caroline Harker (A Touch of Frost) and Drew Cain (Emmerdale), the chilling tale is directed by award-winning theatre-maker Phillip Franks.
Based on a true story, The Croft takes place in the rural Scottish Highlands. Three women from different eras are bound by the Crofters Hut of the village Coillie Ghille. There's Enid, the last remaining inhabitant of the village circa the 1880s, who takes in Eilene, the pregnant daughter of the laird. There's Ruth, who lives in the Croft with her husband in 2005, and Laura, who returns to the Croft with her friend Suzanne in the wake of her mother's death. Together they discover terrifying truths hidden in the isolated cabin as their stories, and a shared search for love and meaning intertwine.
