Priscilla, Queen of the Desert Reviews

FANTASTIC
I saw the show yesterday & have to say it is possibly the BEST show I have ever seen. I've seen a lot of shows, but I have never seen a show like Pricilla. I can't praise this show enough, congratulations to all involved & I can't wait for my next trip on that fabulous bus. 5 stars isn't enough to award this show.

FAVULOUS SHOW AND AMAZING COSTUMES
I took my mum to see this show for her 65th birthday and she was the first on her feet to applaud at the end. The costumes are out of this world, the bus is amazing, the acting great and the singing wonderful. But the best is the humour, I laughed all the way through. I enjoyed it so much, I'm going again with my other half in August.

5 STARS +++++ FOR PRISCILLA
Absolutely fabulous show. Great spectacle. Costumes are out of this world. The singing and dancing is probably the best I have heard and seen in a West End musical and I've been to a lot of them over the years. I really can't recommend this show highly enough. The feel good factor is immeasurable.

HOW TO BEAT THE BLUES!
Tony Sheldon is brilliant as Bernadette and the costumes are fabulous. I knew we were in for a treat when we could see the giant glitter ball suspended above the auditorium! The whole cast is superb! It is the best show I have ever seen. It is funny & witty and will lighten even your darkest day! Don't waste your money on anything else!

OLIVER THORNTON
The show is a must to see but only if Oliver Thornton is performing he is not only brilliant but his performance is breath taking. The very very very best, absolute magic.

UTTERLY GREAT
The show was fabulous. Everyone in it was very very professional. I only had a problem with the seating. Having had two knee replacements, it was impossible for me to sit in my given seat for long as it was so so cramped. However, all credit to the Staff, his name was Kingsley and he was very helpful, he moved me to an aisle seat where I was much comfier. I could not see an awful lot and I was separated from my family but all credit to him, he relieved my pain. Would love to go back to see the show again but this time in the decent seats as the top balcony is really not good at all, especially for people like myself.

BEN BETTER THAN JASON.
Have been lucky enough to see Priscilla twice (so far). Must say, Ben Richards much better in the role of Tick than Jason ("i hate matinees")Donovan. Sorry Jason. Thankyou to the crew on the show (and on all other shows come to that). You are the unsung stars. Please remember that a percentage of the applause is for you guys and girls. Thankyou all.

BRILLIANT
Went to see the show on saturday and it was fantastic, but PLEASE don't buy balcony tickets! I'd purchased 2 balcony tickets 3 rows from the front in the centre so thought we'd be ok and have a good view, but then i read the reviews on balcony seating and started to worry. So before the show went to the box office to double check our seats and to possibly upgrade them but were told our seats were fine and we were shown a picture of the theatre taken from the stage where we could clearly see all the seating and i admit our seats looked ok. What the picture failed to show was that there was a 3 foot safety railing right the way around the balcony that everyone had to lean forward to peer through so spent the first half very angry as couldn't see properly. I complained in the interval and a really nice man found us seats in the grand circle which we were really grateful for and we could enjoy watching the rest of the show.

GREAT SHOW
Great show, very spectacular but agree do not buy tickets for balcony. My legs were numb by the end of the show.
Jonny from England
DON'T BUY TICKETS IN THE BALCONY!!
Well, the show itself was excellent - everything you'd expect it to be. but a word of warning - DO NOT buy tickets for the balcony as you'll miss half the action! "Restricted view" doesn't cover it really!! Most of the action takes place at the very front of the stage - but you simply can't see it from the balcony seats (unless, I guess, you're on the very front row). Spend a bit more and get decent seats...
Sarah B from Essex, UK
CANCELLED HALF WAY THROUGH!!!!!!
I can only give this 2.5 stars because I only got to see half of it!!! The show was cancelled after the interval without explanation; we think the bus broke - apparently this has happened before and if you are at the matinee as we were they chuck you out so they can fix it for the evening performance!!! Priscilla = great show, Palace Theatre = poor show!!!
Karen from Brighton
GREAT DANCING BUT POOR DIALOGUE DELIVERY
Having seen the show some years ago in London I was really looking forward to it. I also know the film very well. Unfortunately the quality of the set was poor, and the delivery of the dialogue was as if the actors were reading it from the script. There was little continuity in the delivery so the impact of the jokes was lost, they just seemed crude. The sound quality was poor in that the orchestra completely obliterated the main leads. The three backing singers were very good and the dancers well rehearsed, the choreography was great. It was the main parts dialogue delivery that let the show down.
Luis from London
NOT IMPRESSED
I have to confess I went thinking to watch a West End production and I got really disappointed. The whole show seemed to me a wannabe despite the cast’s efforts. Don’t get me wrong, the public clapped, danced and sang. However I felt I wasted my time and money. If you expect to watch a big production, this one seems like a cheap Xmas panto.

SHOW WAS NICE!
The show was nice, however the Theatre is crap!! If you wish to see the musical, buy the EXPENSIVE tickets to the stalls, cause elsewhere You see nothing and your seating is awfull. Remember that the theatre is stictly NON smoker, you may not even smoke under the the sign outside. The show was nice, costumes were good, music gret, the rest was awfull Waste of time and money to see the show there. I´ll wait untill it comes to Denmark to see it.

DIDNT SEE A THING....5 STARS FOR THE SHOW 1 FOR THE SEATING
I was placed in row P the last row at the very top of the theatre! I was so disappointed as I could only hear the majority of the show. However the parts I did manage to see looked amazing, but could only see characters when they were elevated or on top of props i.e the tour bus! the most action we witnessed was the backstage helpers getting the next scenes ready! These tickets SHOULD NOT BE SOLD, its unfair and totally ruined our experience! However the show did sound amazing and friends recommended it highly, i would only consider going back if i could choose particular seats! The theatre offered no alternative, and no customer service to contact which is poor. There is very little point watching this if your view is this "restricted" which is a total understatement for these seats SO BE WARNED. I couldnt keep up with the story as I had no idea who was speaking and when.

Priscilla focuses on both the highs and lows of drag life and somehow manages to be deeply touching in between the crude and camp...
